We are seeking dedicated Volunteer Coaches to join our team and make a lasting impact through mentorship, leadership, and sportsmanship. Our coaches are instrumental in fulfilling this mission by providing guidance, structure, and encouragement that extend far beyond the diamond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead/assist with practice planning, skill development drills, and game-day coaching.
- Teach and model positive sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
- Create an inclusive and supportive environment that motivates players to reach their full potential.
- Communicate effectively with players, families, and fellow coaches regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.
- Support the physical, emotional, and social development of players in alignment with the team’s values.
- Collaborate with team leadership on season planning, tournaments, and community engagement activities.
- Serve as an ambassador for the DMV Destroyers by upholding our mission and engaging with the broader baseball and youth sports community.
Skills & Qualifications (preferred, not required):
- Previous coaching or playing experience in baseball.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive and respectful team culture.
- Commitment to youth development and community values.
- Reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring.
